TSO Link named E-Prize 2026 finalist

TSO Link has been named a finalist in E-Prize 2026, in the category Smartare energianvändning (Smarter Energy Use), alongside Re:notch and Solstice. The award is run by Dagens industri and Aktuell Hållbarhet together with E.ON. Finalists pitch on 24 September at Nasdaq Stockholm, and winners are announced on 11 November at Di Energi's stage.

The category looks for solutions that genuinely cut costs and maximize value in the energy system. TSO Link's nomination reflects that focus: standby infrastructure already installed in data centers, UPS systems and backup generators, becomes flexible capacity the power system can call on, without building new power plants or new grid infrastructure. It is a way to add flexibility to the energy system using what already exists, at the point where Sweden's grid needs more of it.

One integration, two reserve markets

Since late April the same UPS systems have been running in both FFR and FCR-D Up. The two markets price and clear differently, hour by hour. Rather than commit the capacity to one of them in advance, we offer it where it is worth most at the time. Nothing changes at the site for that to happen. The reserve is still only the margin above what the site must keep for itself, and its own duty comes first in every hour.

Two markets on one integration is a small version of what we are building. The platform is designed so that adding a market is a configuration change, not another installation at the site. Late April was the first time that had to hold in live operation.

Frequency reserves are the first service, not the last. The harder constraint in the Nordics is grid capacity. In many places the network has none left to give, and new projects wait years for a connection. A site that can lower its draw when the network is tight is easier to connect, and easier to expand. Selling that from the same integration, with nothing new installed at the site, is what we are building toward.

Prequalified by Svenska kraftnät, and live in commercial operation

Approved for FFR and FCR-D in two configurations: a single UPS system, and five UPS units coordinated as one market unit. The second is the one that matters: it holds the response requirement across the multi-unit architecture real sites actually have.

T.Loop and E-Matic launch TSO Link to unlock unused energy in data centers
